About On Offense with Kris Goldsmith
On Offense is a free newsletter where I share investigative insights and strategies to help Americans fight authoritarianism and extremism. Subscribers get my political analysis, calls to action, and firsthand reporting on dangerous movements. Whether it’s empowering individuals with strategies to counter extremism within institutions or sharing personal reflections, this is a space for being proactive against those who seek to harm vulnerable communities.
Paying subscribers are invited to join the On Offense community—a space for thoughtful conversations, strategic planning, and collaboration among those committed to democratic values. They can engage through comments, ask me questions, and gain access to the publication’s complete archives.
Thousands of veterans, activists, and community leaders across the country are fighting back against authoritarianism and extremism. Together, we're building a movement that’s on offense—not waiting for the next crisis, but taking action now to protect democracy for future generations.
About Kristofer Goldsmith

I’m a public policy advocate, nonprofit leader, and expert on the threats posed by domestic extremism. Through Task Force Butler Institute, I lead efforts to train veterans with the skills needed to counter extremism and safeguard their communities.. My work has been featured in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and The Washington Post, and in documentaries like Against All Enemies.
As a consultant through Sparverius LLC, I help organizations protect democracy by building teams, designing programs, and forming coalitions. My experience leading veteran-driven initiatives and shaping federal policies like the Forever GI Bill informs the investigative work and strategies I share in On Offense. This experience allows me to provide readers with insights that cut through the noise and disinformation.

When you subscribe to On Offense, you’re not just getting another newsletter. You’re joining a community of people committed to creating real change. I’ve spent my career shaping federal policy as a veterans’ advocate with organizations like High Ground Veterans Advocacy and Vietnam Veterans of America. Now more than ever, we need journalism and activism that cut through disinformation and inspire action. At On Offense, I provide that essential context and focus on the strategies that mainstream media often overlooks.
